Acacia Fraternity occurs as social fraternity based out of Masonic tradition. Acacithe distinguishes itself from either more fraternities by existence one of ternion national fraternities that utilizes a word instead of Greek letters. Acacia is besides a exclusively national fraternity to have a Greek word rather than Greek letters when its title. General History
Acacia Fraternity was founded in May 12, 1904 by a class action of Fourteen Freemasons attending the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. This foremost chapter was intended a Aleph(א) chapter. Subsequent chapters of Acacia were intended by hebrew letters until 1913 when this system was abolished & replaced by naming both chapter per school it resided at (we.e. a Acacia chapter at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is designated a Rensselaer Chapter or even Rensselaer Acacia Fraternity).

Symbology
Symbolism is very important in any fraternity, & Acacia is no different. the independent symbol & representation of Acacia occurs inside a Three-Four-Five (base-altitude-hypotenuse) right triangle of the first quadrant. A badge of Acacia is traditionally made of gold inlaid using rubies & pearls along a edges. Which are actually placed such that a single ruby sits at both of the iii vertices of the triangle.

A crest of Acacia, shown above, depicts a trio pronged candelabra surrounded by two sprigs of Acacia. Beneath a candelabra is a shield of old gold with ii elastic of black surrounding the thicker band of black. Therein thicker band of black there lives Three 3-Four-Five right triangles. Following a shield is a blue ribbon holding with a motto of the fraternity in Greek: ΩΦΕΛΟΥΝΤΕΣ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΟΥΣ, which means "Human Service" or even "In Service of Humanity".

Chapter Operations
A leadership of both chapter of Acacia is composed of at least 5 major officers: a Venerable Dean, Senior Dean, Junior Dean, Treasurer, & Secretary. A Venerable Dean is often referred to away from a home when a president of the chapter & performs such duties when heading meetings & overseeing general home operations. A Senior Dean acts as a vice president of the chapter, stepping within for the Venerable Dean in his absence. Within a bit of suits, a Senior Dean is also a pledge pedagog. A Junior Dean acts as a second vice president & is around charge of completely items social inside a fraternity including brotherhood cases, formals, & mixers.
